Judicial Education Seminar
New Media 101: Los Angeles
About the Program
The Bolch Judicial Institute invites you to join a New Media 101 for Judges seminar on Friday, Dec. 11, 2026, in Los Angeles, California. This day-long workshop, co-hosted by the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, will feature experts in podcasting, social media, and communications to explore how judges, lawyers, and organizations that support the judiciary can effectively use new media to engage and educate broader audiences on topics relating to courts and the rule of law.
This interactive workshop will examine:
- how the changing media landscape affects public understanding of democracy and the rule of law
- how digital media can be effectively harnessed to educate people and build communities around civic initiatives
- ways to make judicial independence, the work of courts and judges, and the role of the judicial branch relevant and interesting for lay audiences
- how and where judges can speak out while staying within the bounds of judicial ethics
There is no cost to attend the program, but seating is limited and advance registration is required. Register now to reserve your seat and receive the full agenda once it is available.
