Friday Afternoon Tours

If you plan to register for a tour and are paying by check, please email AJEI@law.duke.edu with your name, the tour you would like, and the number of tickets you are purchasing. If the tour is sold out, please let us know if you would like to be added to a wait list. 

Queen Mary Passport Tour – $42

Get an up close and personal look at the Queen Mary with this exciting and informative guided tour! The tour includes: charter bus from the Westin; admission to the Queen Mary; one-hour guided Glory Days Tour; access to historic public exhibits (engine room, shipyard, QM story); model ship gallery; and 4D theater (the show is 15 minutes long and runs every 30 minutes on the hour and half-hour).

Aquarium of the Pacific – Behind the Scenes Tour – $45

Venture behind the scenes and go above the aquarium’s largest exhibit, Tropical Reef, to feed the fish! This tour provides a sneak peek into the daily operations of the Aquarium of the Pacific. Guests will enter the “wet side” of the aquarium, a section not normally open to the public. See what it takes to maintain a world-class aquarium, from water filtration to animal care and feeding. Learn interesting facts about the Aquarium of the Pacific’s 11,000 animals. Come join us on a fun-filled tour!

Upon Arrival: Guests will meet at the tour sign next to the information desk. The tour will begin promptly; it is important that guests arrive on time.

Private Harbor Tour of Long Beach and San Pedro in Luxury Yacht – $50

This three-hour tour is fully narrated by an experienced captain. The tour begins around the beautiful Long Beach Harbor where you’ll see the world-famous Queen Mary, the Russian spy submarine called The Black Scorpion, and catch a glimpse of California sea lions in their natural habitat. You’ll witness the large container docks and cranes in action, the world’s longest break wall, and the spectacular Beach Oil Islands. Next, you’ll cruise through the busiest harbor in the U.S. — Los Angeles Harbor. You’ll see and learn about Terminal Island Federal Prison, Coast Guard ships, the Vincent Thomas suspension bridge, Los Angeles fire boats, the cruise ships and terminal, San Pedro Bay, Angels Gate Lighthouse and much more.

Walking Directions– When you leave The Westin, turn right onto East Ocean Boulevard .2 miles. Turn left on S. Pine Avenue. Go .3 miles and turn right on W Shoreline Drive. Go .1 miles and turn left on Aquarium Way.
